11월 22일 저녁 LA의 Shrine Auditorium 에서 열린 [제33회 American Music Awards]에서 성공적인 컴백을 한 Mariah Carey 를 비롯, Tim McGraw, the Black Eyed Peas, Green Day, Destiny\'s Child, Kelly Clarkson 등이 수상의 영예를 안았다.

Eminem, 50 Cent, Green Day 등 주요 부문 수상자들이 대거 불참하는 바람에, 무대 앞 로얄석 빈 자리가 유독 많았었고, 비록 해체했다지만 Destiny\'s Child 멤버들 가운데선 Kelly Rowland 혼자 자리를 지킨 이번 시상식의 오프닝은 Mariah Carey의 \"Don\'t Forget About Us\"로 문을 열었다.
